A multi-client downloader and auto-updater for Ragnarok Online

Setting up a modern Ragnarok client usually means tracking down a data.grf, a translation project, and the right exe, then stitching them together by hand. WARPGATE does all of that for you. It downloads a complete, ready-to-play client, verifies every file, and keeps it up to date automatically.

What is WARPGATE?

WARPGATE is a free desktop downloader and updater for Ragnarok Online. Pick a client or ragexe build by date from a signed catalog, choose a folder, and click install. WARPGATE downloads it, verifies every file, and keeps it current, fetching only what changed on later updates. New builds are added over time, so there is always a fresh option.

Features

- Fast - streams the download across all five mirrors at once, with pause, resume, and automatic repair if a file drops.
- Verified - every file is checked against an Ed25519-signed manifest, so a corrupted or tampered file never gets installed, no matter which mirror it came from.
- English translation, kept current - pick Renewal or Pre-Renewal and WARPGATE installs it and keeps it updated, powered by llchrisll/ROenglishRE (https://github.com/llchrisll/ROenglishRE/). No ClientGenerator steps.
- The WARP0716 patcher, built in - install and update the WARP patcher straight from WARPGATE if you want to patch your own exe. It keeps your Settings.yml, your custom profiles, and any files you added.
- Self-updating - WARPGATE updates itself, and the client updates by fetching only the changed pieces instead of re-downloading everything.
- Your files stay yours - your clientinfo.xml, DATA.INI, and any GRFs you add are never touched by an update. If you have edited a file an update also changes, WARPGATE keeps your version and tells you, rather than overwriting it silently.
- Three looks - Realm, a live window into the game world; Cosmic, the original portal interface; or a calm Minimal one in dark or light.
- Pick your build - choose the client or ragexe build by date from a signed catalog. More builds can be added over time.

What you get

- A catalog of client and ragexe builds, chosen by date. The 2025-07-16 build is available now.
- The full client (about 3.8 GB), or just the ragexe if you already have the data.
- The latest and most optimized build, with kRO content current through June 4, 2026.
- English translation as a separate, independently updated download, so a translation update is a few MB instead of a whole client.

Latest: 1.0.12

Released September 4, 2026, alongside the WARP0716 September Part 1 patch set. It is a required update, so an older WARPGATE will prompt you on its own; click through and it relaunches.

- The title bar says where everything is. Every tab carries an icon, and a WEBSITE button beside DONATE opens the new site.
- A finished install no longer reads as unfinished. Right after an install completed, the card could sit on "Ready to install" or "Update available, 0 B to download" for up to fifteen minutes. Clicking around during a download is safe again.
- Two downloads at once. The client and the ragexe can run at the same time, each with its own pause and cancel.
- A stalled mirror gets dropped. A connection that crawls rather than dies is now noticed and the download moves to a healthier mirror, instead of waiting out a timeout.
- The WARP tab installs the fixed patcher. Its "Select Recommended" loads the whole recommended set in one click rather than asking a long list of questions.

WARPGATE itself is a small launcher (about 4 MB). Download it from any mirror below, unzip it, and run it. It downloads the client on first launch.

How to Use

- Download Warpgate.zip from a mirror above.
- Unzip it anywhere and run Warpgate.exe.
- Choose an install folder, or point it at an existing client to verify and adopt what is already there.
- Click Install. WARPGATE keeps itself and the client updated from then on.
- Optionally open the LANG tab and pick Renewal or Pre-Renewal English.

To connect to a server, set your clientinfo.xml as usual. WARPGATE leaves it untouched on updates.
